Green Light - 24H to start

EVENT WEATHER REPORT:

A frontal zone South of the Cape is moving further East as the St Helena high extends from West while the pressure gradient enhances and the favourable SSE winds start giving good conditions from Friday afternoon and throughout the weekend.

  • Friday the winds tend to kick in a bit late and top at 26-28 knots on average from late afternoon.
  • Saturday the wind picks up for KOTA with possible start between 12:00/13:00 increasing to 30+ from 14:00/15:00 and peaking 17:00/18:00 close to 35 knots on average with gust of 40-45 knots. The average wind speeds will be dropping to around 30 knots towards sunset at 19:20.
  • Sunday the winds are forecasted to kick in early with a full 30 knots from 13:00 and 35 knots at 15:00 o’clock for a few hours and dropping to just below 30 at 18:00 while the winds are turning more offshore and will be fading sugnificantly towards sunset.
Seas on Friday will increase to 2.5-3m mixed SW swell and SE wind sea offshore and 1-1.5m in the lee of Robben Island till Monday before seas moderate to calm conditions.
